I’m 21 years old, and for years, I struggled with painful periods, extremely heavy bleeding, and sometimes had to take medicine to stop the bleeding. My periods were irregular — no periods for 3 to 4 months, or spotting would last for 20 days. I also dealt with skin darkening, excessive hair growth, and severe acidity. Despite all my lab reports — lipid profile, HbA1c, thyroid, SGPT-SGOT, FSH, LH, and prolactin — nothing seemed to make sense.
Growing up in a joint family, I witnessed constant quarreling between my parents. My father is a businessman, and my mother is a social worker. While they were busy with their own lives, my brother and I often found ourselves alone, hiding in our rooms, crying in silence without their emotional support. To add to this, there were frequent family parties and unhealthy food habits, all of which created an environment that deeply affected my emotional and physical health.
It wasn’t until I met Dr. Shital Shah that I finally understood the impact of my environment on my hormones. She not only helped balance my hormones but also nurtured my emotional well-being, something I had neglected for so long. She guided me on how to cope with my emotions, changed my food habits, and taught me how to approach family situations in a healthier way. Thanks to her, my PCOD symptoms have significantly improved, and I feel more emotionally and physically balanced than ever
